Career & Technical Education (CTE) Pathways

Career and Technical Education pathways are designed for high school students who want to start taking college classes to prepare for a career while they are still enrolled in a public or private high school or a home school.

The Career and College Promise program allows students to select one Career and Technical Education pathway to learn valuable job skills while earning college credit from Mitchell Community College.

Career and College Promise CTE Pathway Requirements

To be eligible for Career and College Promise, a student must be a high school junior or senior with a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Students whose weighted high school GPA is below 3.0 should speak with their high school counselor or Mitchell's CCP Director for additional options.

With the approval of the high school principal/designee and Mitchell’s Career and College Promise Director, students who are not enrolled in a College Transfer Pathway may enroll in two CTE pathways.

Students must select courses within their declared pathway(s). Substitutions are not allowed.

With permission from the high school principal/designee and Mitchell’s Career and College Promise director, students may change pathways. Submit a Change of Pathway form to make the request. All requests require a valid reason for the change, and multiple changes of pathways may not be granted.

Career and College Promise students must attend a Required Orientation.
