Clinical Medical Assistant Course
This is a 152-hour course combining lecture and lab. This course includes: infection control, vital signs, anthropometric measurements, C.P.R., patient exam room set-up, various routes of medication administration, wound care, aseptic technique for clinical situations, phlebotomy, pulmonary function testing, and EKG monitoring. Pre-requisities for this course: Must have successfully completed the Medical Office Administrative Staff Training Course - or - present proof of a minimum of 1-year experience in a medical office and a HS diploma or GED. Upon completion of this course, student will be eligible to take the NHA certification examination in Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
Cost: $244 The registration fee does not include the cost of the exam.

Medical Coding and Billing I
This is an entry-level course covering basic to intermediate coding and billing. Prerequisite: HS Diploma/GED. Other conditions may apply.

Medical Office Administrative Staff Training with Electronic Health Records
Acquire training related to working at the front desk of a medical office and learn the skills needed to manage electronic medical records. Prerequisites:  HS Diploma/GED. Registration fee does not include certification exam fee. Other conditions may apply.

Nurse Assistant I
Train to provide personal care and basic nursing services for the elderly and other adults. The program includes 51 hours of classroom study, 101 hours of lab practice and 40 hours of clinical experience. Students are certified in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.  Classes have limited seating that is filled on a first-qualified, first-served basis.

Nurse Assistant II
Build upon Nurse Assistant I skills and learn to perform complex nursing procedures for patients or residents in a nursing care facility or hospital. Work under the supervision of a registered nurse. Prerequisites: HS Diploma/GED, current AHA C.P.R. card, current listing on NC Nurse Aide I Registry. Other conditions apply.

Nurse Assistant I Refresher
Designed for individuals who have had a previous listing on the NC Nurse Aide Registry and have allowed their certification to expire within the past four years.

Pharmacy Technician
Train to work under the supervision of a pharmacist in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting. Prerequisites: Prior completion of Strategies for Student Success class and HS Diploma/GED.

Medication Aide
Prepare to work as a medication aide in a long-term care facility. (Does not meet requirements for Assisted Living Facilities Med Tech positions). Prerequisite:  HS Diploma/GED and current listing on the NC Nurse Aide Registry, both of which must be verified at time of registration.
