After the first semester, you will be assigned a faculty member who will act as your faculty advisor until you graduate or change your program of study.
You will see your faculty advisor every semester to assess your needs and complete an educational plan for your upcoming semester. You need an educational plan created for each semester for which you want to register.
Advising Month is held every October and March. October is the ideal time to talk with your faculty advisor about the upcoming spring semester. March is the best time to talk with your advisor about summer classes and the upcoming fall semester.
In addition to helping you with scheduling, your faculty advisor will assist you with course selection and determining your appropriate course load. Your faculty advisor will encourage you to become self-reliant and to make informed decisions. This includes setting realistic goals and developing thinking, learning and life management skills.
