Mitchell announces new partnership with UNCC

Mitchell Community College recently announced a new articulation agreement with the University of North Carolina–Charlotte (UNCC) in Music. Mitchell students in the Associate in Fine Arts in Music program now have the option of transferring to UNCC and pursue their Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Choral/General Music Education, Bachelor of Music in Instrumental/General Music Education, Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Performance, or Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Performance. The transfer agreement is effective for fall 2017.

“We are so excited to establish this partnership with the UNCC School of Music,” said Dr. Beverly Brown, Music coordinator. “This articulation agreement will allow our music majors to seamlessly transfer into an esteemed program to complete their respective Bachelor’s degree.” The UNCC articulation agreement is the third agreement between the Mitchell Music Department and North Carolina four-year institutions. Other agreements include articulations with UNC-Wilmington School of Music and the University of Mount Olive Department of Music.

Mitchell’s Music Department seeks to prepare students with a foundation for a career in music while offering educational enrichment that meets the lifelong learning needs of a diverse citizenry. To learn more about music programs, contact Dr. Beverly Brown at bbrown@mitchellcc.edu or (704) 978-5479.
