James Hogan, Vice President of Advancement
|
James Hogan joined Mitchell Community College as the Vice President for Advancement in January 2017. James previously served as a Major Gifts Officer with Davidson College. A long-time Statesville native, he holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Western Carolina University, where he serves on the Honors College Advisory Board. He additionally taught high school English in the Iredell-Statesville School system for four years. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of the Piedmont. James and his wife, Kelly, have three children. |

Megan Suber, Director of Marketing and Communications |
Megan joined Mitchell Community College as the Public Information Officer in December 2014. Coordinating the College’s internal and external communication and marketing efforts, Megan oversees both print and digital media. She recently served as the Coordinator of Student Activities/Recruiter for Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton. Megan graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in English, professional writing, and a master’s degree in higher education administration. Megan resides in Cornelius with her husband, Charles, and two children. She enjoys cooking, graphic design and photography. |

Molly is a 2012 graduate of Mitchell Community College and an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a degree in organizational communication. She is currently completing a Masters at Appalachian State University. Molly is an Iredell County native and was the 2018 R.D. Grier Excellence in Education Award winner for support staff. |

Ann Kelly, Endowment Specialist |
Ann came to Mitchell Community College in July of 2001 after retiring from a career in the real estate business. She is the part-time Endowment Specialist. Her first experience with the Mitchell Community College Endowment for Excellence was as a volunteer with the Campaign for Excellence, a three-year major fundraising campaign for the College’s Endowment, which was established to provide a sound financial future for Mitchell Community College. Ann is a graduate of Greensboro College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She resides in Statesville with her husband, Melvin, and they have two adult children and four grandchildren. She is active in the community as a volunteer with several charitable organizations. Ann is a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Statesville and Broad Street United Methodist Church where she enjoys singing in the choir and ringing bells in the handbell choir. |

Aaron Thompkins, Digital & Social Media Specialist |
Aaron joined Mitchell in August 2015 and brings over 15 years of experience. His background includes designing and creating websites on various platforms, managing social media content, SEO (Search Engine Optimization, and Google AdWords. Aaron has worked as the owner and freelance designer for BL360 Studios and as a visual merchandiser for NEX. Aaron specializes in revising graphics and content on traditional websites to mobile applications and adapting content for social media. He is originally from Warren, OH and recently moved to North Carolina from West Chester, PA. Aaron is a college football fan and enjoys spending his time with son, London, and spouse, Amber. |
