The Music Department seeks to prepare students with a foundation for a career in music while offering educational enrichment that meets the lifelong learning needs of a diverse citizenry.

Start your career in music at Mitchell with an Associate in Fine Arts in Music degree. Our accredited program prepares you for transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Award-winning faculty members are professional musicians who provide individual and small-group lessons. Be challenged and supported by high-quality instruction and personal attention as you progress in musicianship and performance. You will gain knowledge in music theory and music history. You will also develop your talents in solo recitals and ensemble concerts learning from professional musicians in master classes, recitals and ensemble performances.
