Student Services Advising Department
Mitchell Community College's Student Services Advising Department provides the following services to support New-First Year Students as they begin working toward their educational and career goals:
Academic advising and success coaching is provided to new students through their second semester and re-entering students with less than two semesters of completed college coursework.
- Assures completion of New Student Orientation.
Provides information and transition support for student advisees from first-year Student Services Advisor to Faculty/Progam advisor.
NOTE: Incoming students who have previously completed two semesters or 18 college credit hours and/or current students are assigned to a Faculty Advisor instead of a Student Services Advisor. The name and contact information of a Faculty Advisor can be found in the "Student Profile" in Webadvisor.
Newly admitted students who have completed the Residency Determination and Application to Mitchell Communication College and have received their admittance notice must schedule an appointment with an Admissions' Specialist to clarify their major and learn next steps, including whether or not Placement Testing is needed and if you are ready to meet with a Student Services Advisor for academic success planning. Admissions' Specialists also inform incoming students about their student accounts found on My Mitchell, including taking the New Student Mandatory Online Orientation located in WebAdvisor.
