ATTENTION STUDENTS

COVID-19 information for Online MIND Center Online Tutoring Hours: Monday - Thursday 8-5 pm & Friday 8 -12 pm

  • Online services will begin Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
  • Tutoring sessions will utilize Microsoft "Teams" via Mitchell Community College email.

MIND Center

The MIND Center offers free peer tutoring in most courses. If you would like to utilize academic support services, please fill out our online form and drop by a MIND Center location to pick up a referral form for your instructor to sign. Return with the signed form and get the help you need.

Apply to be a MIND Center Tutor

The MIND Center is accepting applications for peer tutor positions at the Statesville and Mooresville locations.

Applicants for this position must meet the following qualifications:
     *minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (all institutions attended),
     *minimum GPA of 3.0 in the subject(s) in which you feel qualified to be a tutor,
     *minimum of 12 college-level credits in core academic subjects including English 111.

Submitting an application does not guarantee employment. A transcript review and an interview are also part of the hiring process. Job offers are contingent upon the College's verification of references, a background check, or other applicable reports or inquiries.

Mitchell students and grads (associate degree or less) are paid $10.00/hr. Tutors holding a bachelor's degree or higher are paid $11.00/hr.
