Brewer honored with Patriotic Employer Award

On July 13, 2017, Dr. Tim Brewer was presented with the Patriotic Employer Award on behalf of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and the Department of Defense. Brewer was nominated by Sergeant Wohali Revels, Mitchell security officer and member of the North Carolina Army National Guard, Charlie Battery 1-113 Field Artillery Battalion. Presenting the award was Mr. Henry Bridgers, Jr. with ESGR.

ESGR sponsors an awards program designed to recognize employers for employment policies and practices that are supportive of their employees' participation in the National Guard and Reserve. All employer recognition and awards originate from nominations by individual Reserve Component members. The ESGR Patriotic Employer Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR has served our country for more than 40 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
