Math Club members Erick Boniface, Michael Bovenzi, Christian Campos Ruiz and Lee Cline competed on Saturday, November 10 at the state-wide event held at Davidson County Community College. Twenty-four teams competed from 13 different schools. The competition consisted of two parts. The morning competition was based on individual scores for a calculus exam which consists of Calculus I and II problems. The afternoon competition was a group competition where groups tackle precalculus problems. “We are so proud of all the Math Club members’ dedication and hard work,” said Tessa Townsend, instructor and club co-advisor. “The competition was a great learning and networking experience.” For more information about math programs and the Math Club at Mitchell, contact co-advisors Tessa Townsend at (704) 878-3348 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Barbara Salamon at (704) 878-3300 or email@example.com.
