2022 Operationalizing Equity Webinar Series, from Every Learner Everywhere and Achieving the Dream – FREE
The 2022 Operationalizing Equity, Social Justice, and Inclusion to Transform Teaching and Learning Webinar Series will provide a four-pronged approach for advancing inclusive teaching as it relates to issues of equity in institutions of higher education (IHEs) and digital learning. Participants will engage in moderated panel discussions led by diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) experts. The webinars will focus on embedding inclusion, equity, and social justice in course content; the process of operationalizing equity; developing culturally responsive assessments; and creating inclusive environments.
Through this series, participants will develop and enhance their skills to transform institutions through leveraging digital learning tools and operationalizing equity, social justice, and inclusion in teaching and learning. In alignment with Achieving the Dream and Every Learner Everywhere’s vision, these webinars are founded on equity and access to inclusive classroom environments that advance the implementation of teaching and learning practices that address racial and economic inequities through an antiracist lens.
The topics include:
Designing Assessments through a Culturally Responsive Lens
Tuesday, April 12, 2022, 3:00pm – 4:00pm ET
Undisputed Truth For Black Male Achievement, provided by Pitt Community College – FREE
Retention and graduation rates for men of color, particularly those identified as Black males, remain the lowest within higher education. There are numerous, deep-rooted systemic barriers academia must strive to eliminate in order to support the academic and social success of this severely underserved population, especially amid a global pandemic and the ongoing fight for racial justice. All are highly encouraged to participate as these workshops are designed to help faculty and staff better understand their roles in the overall community college experience for Black males and to gain tools to improve their retention and student success strategies.
